Having a tattoo is having something
drawn on your skin for practically the rest of your life. Although there
are procedures that are available right now to remove tattoos, they are
often painful, time consuming and leave permanent scars. Because of
this, the decision to have a tattoo requires careful thinking. There are
lots of factors to consider such as the type of tattoo, design,
artwork, tattoo artist, location in your body, etc.
One
of the first decisions to be made is whether to have a tattoo with a
custom drawn or pre-made design. Although some people who do not have a
specific design in their mind may opt for the pre-made type, many still
choose the custom drawn tattoo due to its more personal quality.
But no matter which of the two types you choose, it is highly recommended to acquire the services of a custom tattoo artist with excellent talent in drawing and the fine art of tattooing.
Your personal design can be improved or altered by him/her so that it
will suit your body perfectly. The artist can also suggest another
design if he/she feels your custom design does not fit your body, skin
color, figure or personality.
It
is obviously not easy to find a good custom tattoo artist. We all know
that there are numerous tattoo studios around but not all of them have
good artists. Even the artists in the popular studios are not
necessarily all good. These artists often hop from one studio to another
thus making the search for the ideal one a lot difficult.
So
the best thing to do is to check the artists' portfolio or body of
work. Carefully study their artworks. Try to find if they are prone to
mistakes or if they can handle intricate designs with ease. See if they
have the talent and skill to create and do complex designs excellently.
Make sure that their attention to detail is like no other.
Naturally,
a more experienced artist is more ideal. But it is also crucial that
he/she has a lot of experience in the particular style of your design.
You must know if the artist is at home and well-versed on the specific
style of your design. For instance, if you want an Asian design, it is
better if the artist is into Asian designs as well. Because if he/she is
comfortable with the style of your liking, your tattoo will have a
better chance to be perfect.
